Vesta Dishwasher connection woes

Fellow MOCers:
We tried the dishwasher in the 3400 this weekend but experienced major problems. The faucet that comes standard has plastic threading inside where the filter assembly screws into. The female plastic threads are so minimal that I cannot get a good bite for the quick-connect adapter that replaces the existing filter assembly. I have yet to try teflon tape to see if the extensive leakage around the quick-connect can be stopped, I hope to check that out tonight (Will let you know how it works). My other alternative, unless someone has a better idea, is to replace the kitchen faucet (which seems a shame on a brand new unit). However, I feel the price of a new faucet is worth the use of the dishwasher. Any advice out there???
Bingo

Unfortunately teflon tape did not remedy the situation. I guess the only remedy is going to be a new faucet that is sturdy enough to accept the quick-connect with metal threads instead of plastic. Fortunately it is not a crisis situation since we have three extra dishwashers in the Montana, DW, and two daughters (Ha!!!)

Bingo,

The OEM faucet is not a very good unit. We replaced ours with a household unit from Home Depot. It wasn't cheap, but we really enjoy the srayer head that pulls out of the faucet. You probably can't use that kind with the dishwasher attachment, but maybe you can get one with a separate sprayer since you're upgrading anyway.

Many of us have done this. I used a round file to enlarge the centre hole. The pull out spray and the soap dispenser are nice.
We liked this faucet so well, I put the same one in my stick house.
