It's Here....

....finally! Picked it up today:

2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic 3500 LT 3, dual rear wheels, Duramax diesel (360 hp and 650 lbs torque), Allison 6 speed automatic transmission, crew cab, long bed, 4 x 2, blue granite metallic exterior, dark gray leather interior, 10 way heated power leather bucket seats, Bose system, XM radio, dual digital automatic temperature controls...and more.

The numbers:

Max cargo capacity (off the sticker on the left rear door): 4,257.
Max 5th wheel tow: 16,400.
GVWR: 11,400.
EW: 7,143...fairly light for a dually.

When/if I can figure out how to post pictures/signature, I will.

Oh man...that sure sounds like a sweety...
Let us know how she does...

I've gotta say I've been tempted myself as I still have a gas puller and the market for these trucks is prime right now.

Cat congrats we have the same P/U only yours has the bigger engine ours is 300 hp hope you have the same luck as we have had with ours plan on driving the wheels off of this one till we can retire it pulls our 3400 with no problem and handles like a dream with it behind us will be installing a prodigy brake controller this weekend and expect it to do the braking much better than the cheap one the dealer installed

Cat320, it sounds like a beautiful machine and even though I bleed Ford blue, I know the GMC Duramax Allison is the top dog as far as diesels go. Hopefully the new 6.4 Ford will be as good.

Cat--Hey big guy, I guess you really did want to get a BIG truck--3500 CC LB dually!!!!!!! So are you going to load it up heavy like a REAL MAN would, or are you going to wimp out and stay within your 5er's GVWR?

LOL!!! LOL!!!!

Sorry, but I'm just feeling a bit wild tonight--just played some goooood tennis!!!

Congrats on your truck--I'm sure you are going to love it. If my condo association would have let me bring in a dually, I would have very seriously considered going the same way you did--although I'd probably pick a more MANLY color.

LOL!!! LOL!!!

Cat, sounds like a heck of a pull toy you got there. Those LT3's are nicely equiped trucks. Those heated seats will feel real nice the first cold morning you have to start it up. I wish Ford would come with a nicer radio like the Bose system. Maybe someday they will get smart and put a better radio in the Superduty's. Enjoy your new ride

To tell you the truth David, I had a humorous post all typed out on your thread where you tell us about your new F350...but deleted it, but since you asked:

Wrenchtraveller...wrote (on your thread)..."I wish you many happy trouble free miles and when you park that big sweetheart beside a full size Chev, the Chev looks like an import. Over 8000 pounds of pick up.........You gotta love it."

You wish...you're hauling lots of dead weight (including the logo)...8000 for a srw! My dually is nearly 900 lbs lighter and will haul more. More power, more cargo capability and better fuel mileage...can't believe anybody would even consider the F word...unless it was free, then I'd have to think about it. Check out the blue granite metallic in person, at least it's not desert sand or some other none descript color that will fade the vehicle into the back ground. But for a Ford guy, maybe that's a good idea. You have obviously missed the following from the RV forum. I'll reprint it for your knowledge and edification. If you need to tow something really heavy:

Buy yourself the biggest, Mac Daddiest, 1 ton dually, Chevy with the ground poundin, smoke belchin, sweet sound of music, pull a courthouse off it's foundation, only happy when she's pullin hard, knock down, drag out, earth shakin, stump pullin, hill levelin, head buttin, chest beatin, mule whippin, dog kickin, gut bustin, slap yer pappy, kiss yo momma, oil burnin, 360 horse power, 650 lbs of torque, Duramax diesel with the 6 speed Allison tranny. Boooyahhhhhh!!!!!! When you absolutely, positively, got to have the Mac Daddiest oil burner with the most HP & Torque on the market! Accept no substitute! She'll still be tuggin ya 10 years from now and will tow anything ya can hang on behind 'er.

How was that David...and no, I'll not exceed GVWR in the TV or 5er!

hahahahah - so where does Dodge fit in there?

We looked at both Chev and Ford before we bought. Dory asked why I didn't look at the Dodge? It told her Chevy's were blondes, Fords were Brunettes, and Dodges were Redheads. I've always felt safe with the Blonde or Brunette and I have no complaints either way, but every once in a while a red will catch your eye and you just have the urge to try one out.

That was the last thing I remember telling her.
