Red and Blue drain hoses, 2014 343RL

Can anyone tell me what the red and blue drain hoses, in the convenience center, are for and when they should be used. TIA for any info.

Hello Feseib, you cannot keep them drained all year long because the system has to stay full and pressurized by either the onboard water pump or a hose hooked up to a water spigot. They are to drain all of the water out of all the water pipes in the trailer so they don't freeze in the winter (most anyway). I also find the cold water (blue one) handy for letting off pressure when I am outside unhooking my water hose to get on the road. Remember to shut it though or you will have a constant flow when you hook up the next time or turn on your water pump with water in the potable tank. Best of luck! -Glenn

Basically it's best to leave them alone unless and until you winterize the rig.

When I winterize I open one until I see pink stuff come out. Then close it and repeat with the second.
