Best Route Regina Saskatchewan Fargo ND

We are heading from Skagway AK to Florida mid August. MS Streets and trips plots us heading south on Canada 39 from Regina into South Dakatoa onto US52 into Fargo. Anyone familiar with towing on this road? The alternative would be to drive all the way on Canada 16 and dropping down Canada 75 from Winnepeg to pick up Interstate 29 to Fargo. We are pulling another car on a two axel UHaul to Florida. We then turn around and head up to Indiana to pick up our new Montana 3582 Bigsky.

Would it make more sense time and road wise to stay on Canada 16 or is dropping down Canada 39 a good road? It's about 140 miles shorter but unsure of Canada 39.

Appreciate any advice.

We have travelled Canada 39 south from Moose Jaw to the border at Portal and continued on US52 to Minot, Carrington to Jamestown. Then its I94 into Fargo. It was suggested to us by another member. We found the roads to be in better than normal condition. Not alot of traffic, turns or small town interference. We used it to return to Alabama after spending two months in Alaska in 2008. We would prefer it to other routes.
