Day/Night shades
I have a 2007 3400rl with day night shades. The rear window one broke and I'll be darned if I can figure out how to get it off without taking off all the valances, which I do not know how to do either. Gottal be simple right? No interest in repairing it myself. I just want to get it off.

We have a 2955 and the day night shade by the dinette broke. There are screws holding up the valance. We had to take off the valance then unscrew at the top the day night shade. FYI we sent the blind back to the Mfg. in Indiana and they repaired it very reasonable. (Irving)I called them gave my serial number on the Montana.
Also I have read on the moc that if you put screws on each end of where the day and the night shades meet it keeps the day from slipping out because the plastic clips pop out and allow the day shade to come out. We have plans to do this when the weather breaks.

You can take the valance off by taking out the screws then the shade is easy to remove. They are not hard to restring, there was a demonstration by exnavydiver at the rally. Do a search and you will get pictures and instructions someone posted on this forum

Sorry but the valance and side curtains have to come off first. On our unit the screws are at each end and along the top. Look close and you will see them.

Don't just look, feel for them! Sometimes they're covered by fabric.
I've repaired a few of these shades. I get my kits from 'the dirty blind man' and highly recommend them. The instructions are easy to follow but I offer this additional advice : Don't try to do it in a trailer - not enough room. DON'T do it outside - the slightest wind will mess you up big time. I used our dining room table with all the additional leafs installed and still had barely enough room to fo the big rear shade of or 2955.
