Duct Tape Adhesive Removal

Owing to the Covid related US/Canada border closure, all of us Canadian full-timers will be staying home this winter. In preparation for same I decided to purchase a roll of 48 inch double bubble foil insulation to skirt my 5th wheel. I plan on using duct tape to attach it to my Monty and then multiple sand bags to keep it in contact with the ground. My concern is with removal of the tape come spring.
I have read elsewhere that WD-40, GooGone, even mayonnaise will do the trick if plastic razor blades are used. Will any deterioration occur to the gelcoat finish? Any help or suggestions will be gratefully appreciated.

Ours son has a vinyl and graphics business so I had him "sterilize" our Montana when we bought it.

He used Goo Gone Spray Gel and a plastic scraper. Everything came right off with nary a mark on the RV. I suspect it would work just as well with duct tape.

I have read metal foil tape (made for air conditioning ducts) holds good in freezing temperatures and will come off in the spring with little to no residue.
Best homemade skirting I've seen.
Bead/channel skirting by Cody James.

Used awning C Chanel all around the rig and then sewed rope onto 18oz vinyl coated polyester material. Skirting slides into the Chanel, used outdoor Velcro on the vertical parts.

Never use duct tape on your RV. The sun will cook the tape and the glue will be there for good. Duct tape will get destroyed by the sun. Even in cold weather the UV rays is what kills tape. Be very careful with any adhesive tape you use. If you drain all the water you shouldn't need to protect the bottom of the rig.

I have used WD-40 on a rag to remove the black streaks on the sides of our slides. Wipes off easily. No problems with gel coat, but I do wash soon after. The WD-40 just makes it easier to remove the streaks. They wipe right off with no effort.

Streaks do come off fairly easy. Duct tape residue does not. Agree with recommendation to not use. I stored a fiver in Colorado for an entire winter, and did not provide any protection for the underbelly without issue. One option you might consider would be skirting the fiver with insulation wrapped plywood.
