Medipac Travel Insurance

Hi All:

Just a note especially to our Canadian Snowbirds, of which we are.
We have Medipac Travel Emergency Medical Insurance endorsed by CSA.
What a life saver ! On Dec 19 after 4 days in hospital in Mesa AZ my wife and I
were medevacted to a hospital in our home town of Edmonton, Alberta. Cost of flight about $ 40,000 US. Stay in hospital $ 30,000 US, ambulance ride $ 1300 US. The flight took under 3 hours on a private Lear Jet with 2 pilots and 2 nurses to attend to my wife. I was stowed in the back seat. The nurses did not leave us until my wife was admitted to the hospital.
We left our rig, Montana 3800RE and Ford F350 in Mesa. Medipac will pay for returning the rig to Edmonton from Mesa.
Bottom Line. You may think it is expensive paying $2,000 for this type of insurance, but when it happens to you, be very grateful the insurance exists.
Your full time RVing friend.

So sorry to hear you had such an emergency. We sincerely hope and pray that your wife is recovering. We all wonder from time to time, " what if? " . We always travel with our insurance in place .

Sorry to hear of your misfortune and hope for a speedy recovery.
As a fellow Canadian that travels a bit in the States travel insurance is always a hot topic with Canadian travellers. Medipac is what we have used in the past as it was highly recommended from our older snowbirds friends.
Thanks so much for posting your experience as it really does help build confidence in the insurance we have chosen. We will pass on your positive experience during our future fireside discussions.
