I'm pretty sure the rim width range for the Sailun 637T is 6" - 7.5" with 6.5" being the normal measuring size. The 6.5" has been fully researched before, I just no longer have the reference.

Montanas have come with 6" rims since forever. It is a perfectly appropriate size for Sailuns, Goodyear, what ever tire is commonly used.

Customer yesterday was as looking for wheels and tires. I told him to check out Recpro for the wheels and as for tires I recommend Freedom Haulers in a 14 ply, 100 psi . After putting them on our High Country all our camping family had us order sets for them as well. They’re a great tire.
Most of us opted to go with a 235/85-16 so we could gain a little height and give more bed clearance.

I have a complete set of wheels and tires. Where are you located. I upgraded to 19.5 boar wheels with Michelin tires rated at 3960# and 87 mph

They tread pattern looks exactly like my TransEagle 235/85-16 G rated all steel that I put on my rig.

Steel rims work fine, especially for the spare unless you are more into the nice looking aluminum rims. But either work with the steel being less money and higher rated.

Good choice, its nice to see you listen to the experienced members on this forum. I too run the same tire, and would not run another brand regardless of some that are reported here. Sailuns hands down the best RV tire on the market .

WRT wheel width, first check with a reputable shop to see if the Sailun can be mounted on a 6" rim. If so, you wouldn't have to change out your wheels since the Sailun only has to be aired to 80psi to carry 3420lbs (see their load table chart.) OTOH, you'll want to be careful as someone else could unknowingly put the max psi, 110, in the tires.

if a rim is rated to 80 psi what happens on a warm day when the temperature goes up to 90 psi or 100 psi?

The same thing that happens on a 110lb rim...the pressure increases...in this case to somewhere around 120 to 125 normally, sometimes a bit more with higher temps. The 80lb rim can handle up to 95 to 100 before it might fail or loose bead seal.

Temps go up in degrees, not psi; its not a factor.

Pretty sure the rim max pressure ratings are just like the max tire pressure ratings, cold pressure is what you set them at, and the design is capable of handling the normal pressure increases while rolling, and there is no need to reduce pressure during the day as that will cause you to have to pump them up every morning, back to the cold pressure .

Generally speaking, a 10 degree F temperature increase will increase tire pressure 2 psi. My tire pressure monitor also indicates temperature, but since the sending unit is mounted on the valve stem, and spinning in ambient air, I don't rely on it too much, but i will watch the pressures change, and make a note of which tires show an increase (and therefore are running hotter).
