Slides Electrical Mystery

Helping my friend with his 2019 3121RL. Pressing the slides (hydraulic) switch I get power at the switch contacts. Power is not always passed thru to the hydraulic pump solenoid on the extend or retract side (wire #2).

Is there a controller of some type in the line from the switch to the solenoid?

Here's what it's not:
Has an 80Amp breaker from factory, manual reset.
Batteries charged.

I just don't get consistent power through the wires from the switch to the solenoid.

Is there a wiring diagram from Lippert available?

Thanks

As I recall, the wire from the switch to the reversing solenoid is direct - no fuses or intervention. Sounds like a switch problem to me. Does it work if you jumper around the switch.

I did not think there was something in line to the solenoid but in the Lippert slide out manual it shows a "Dual Motor Syncronous Velocity Motor Controller" which this 3121 has. I thought it might be part of the system and might be a problem.

I don't know what the controller is supposed to do anyway so I was hesitant to bypass it or jump the contacts.

The "Dual Motor Synchronous Velocity Motor Controller"sounds like a Scwintek (sp?) doodad and not applicable to the hydraulic system.. Is there an electric slide in the configuration (bedroom)?

Yes, electric slide in BR. Must be for the two side motors.

I thought switch first but when pressing it there is contact being made. I must be testing the wrong wires. The #3 wires from the switch go to the Hydraulic solenoid valve on the manifold and the #2 wires go to the pump reversing solenoid. I'm going back out and see what is causing the intermittent operation. At least this Montana has numbers on the wires. A step up for them.

Of course when we left the unit after reinstalling the switch panel everything worked fine. Must be the magic touch.

Thanks for the reassurance on there not being anything between the switch and the solenoid.

Understand I have a 2012 and there may have been changes since then, particularly if the unit is equipped with an In-Command system. But I doubt it.

Thanks again. No in command system on his rig. Mine is a 2011 but they are similar.

Download the Lippert NOW app from Google play store. Go to Support Docs, Leveling, Hydraulic, Towable, technical. Has the troubleshooting procedures.
