Future Montana Owner

Hello,

We jumped into the RV lifestyle with both feet in 2009 after a soggy camping trip in a tent. On the way home we admired all the trailers and coaches on the interstate. A few years earlier we had gone to an RV show but were not ready to purchase. July 2009 we bought our first RV, a 30ft 5th wheel (I already owned a 3/4 ton diesel pick up).

We are not quite retired but we have gotten a lot of use out of our trailer from local weekend trips to 3 week multi state trips. Our kids are in high school now and STILL love to travel with us in the trailer. Our current SOB 5er is now 8 years old and still in great shape but we recently visited a couple of RV shows and are thinking of upgrading to a Montana 3160RL while we can still get an ok price for our current trailer.

So far this group has been very helpful as I digest all the information on pricing and whether or not my current truck can adequately pull it. Thank you!

Glad to have you join the MOC family. We put so much value into this forum that it would be a loss to move to an SOB and another forum.

One of the factors that keeps us buying Montanas.

We have a 2016 Montana 3160 and absolutely love it! We've been very lucky and not had many issues with it. We've had a few small things that our dealership took care of quickly.

I think you'll love the layout of the 3160. There is so much storage I haven't even filled up all the cabinets.

We have a Ford F350 1 ton that we use to pull it and we have no problems. Welcome aboard!

Your story is so familiar. Way back some years ago one fall (when everyone had returned to work or school) DW and I took a camping trip that encompassed Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Glacier, Bryce and Zion. Plus went through the Custer historical site, Devil's Tower and a few other places. We were on the road for 3 weeks. The irony is that we took all the camping gear (no trailer), and at our first stop (Grand Teton), midway through our 3 day stay, the weather turned real bad - cold, snow, temps averaging about 35, until we got to Zion. Everywhere we stayed we recognized that we needed a trailer next time. We didn't look smart in a tent while everyone else was in a trailer or some high priced lodging.

We bought a TT soon after, then eventually decided we wanted more elbow room and went for the most popular fiver at the time (Montana).

Almost 11 years later and we still have our Monty and live in in fulltime.

Welcome to the forum. May you learn more than you ever thought possible, cuz you're gonna need to.
