I am leaving Williamsburg VG on Thursday heading to DC. Any reccomendations on where to camp and how to get around? TIA

Most people recommend Cherry Hill Campground, so when we went a couple of years ago, we stayed there. It is a bit pricey, but it is extremely attractive and well run. They are not far from the Metro. A city bus does come to the campground and will take you to the Metro, but we drove to the Metro station.
The people who run the campground give you all the information you need regarding what to see in DC, and also information about the Metro.
The laundry room is the nicest I’ve ever seen. They also have an indoor hot tub and an outdoor pool.

We have friends who work camp at Cherry Hill and they highly recommend it.

Stayed at Cherry Hill in 2017. Great park! Pricey, but what would you expect? Drove to Metro Station, parked, got on train, easy! Park personnel very helpful.

If a veteran, check the military campgrounds. Need to reserve well ahead of time.

If you are checking military, Ft Meade is nice, but don't forget about Annapolis Naval Yard. They have a hidden campground also.

I took your advice and came to Cherry Hill. I am not disappointed! It is a bit pricey but it is run by a group of professionals who are friendly and VERY helpful. Thank you for your replies.

Cherryhill is the best just stayed there 3 weeks ago and got to see all the cherry blossoms. Good food at the little restaurant. EZ bus to train and zip right in to Town.

We've stayed at Cherry Hill numerous times. It's less than a mile away from the train station too.

We have stayed on Ft. Belvoir and it is right in the water. Super nice for the price.

Cherry Hill Park is awesome and clean. You can catch a bus that takes you to the train station. All very easy to get around. They even have a night tour from the park of Washington DC.

We stayed at Cherry Hill in 2015 when my nephew graduated from Anapolis. They were improving it then and it was already very nice. Don't think you'll be disappointed. Was a bit pricy, but Washington D.C., you expect that.
