Hercules H-901

Anyone have any feedback on these? A good friend of mine uses these tires on his cattle trailer and loves them. Good for a Montana 3911 FB?

I’m sure he has had good luck with them but he isn’t using them the way we would. You don’t see cattle trailers spending all day on a hot interstate at 65 mph with 12000 pounds on them.

Well, I appreciate the response, but not sure if that helps at all? Does this mean that you have used these and they are not OK in our application? They are G rated 14 ply tires, so why would they be any different than any other G rated tire?

I've seen post on those tires, but the poster has never returned to give a report good or bad, so you might be on your own, while many good posts and results on the Sailun 637s

Sadly "Made in USA" really doesn't hold the weight that that declaration did 20 years ago. You have to look closely to see if it was made in the USA or "ASSEMBLED" in the USA. But I'm getting a bit far off the tire subject here. I've used Hercules truck tires in the past. They are pretty stiff as in ride comfort but have good tread life. When you get right down to it, Hercules and Cooper tires partner in the manuf of tires.

I used them on our second Montana. No problem except at least back then, special order for a replacement. Was very happy with them. Did run hard.

Dang that's a great price for those G rated trailer tires. About the same as the Sailuns. I'll have to remember those.

I had Hercules installed after the original factory one blew (Ranier) when traveling. That was more than 3 years ago and thousands and thousands of miles ago too. I've been very pleased with mine. I did concrete curb skid one and the side wall had a slight tear. I did have it replaced with another tire even though the tire shop told me it was still OK. I did not want to take any chances and since I've had not a hint of issue at all. I've been very pleased. Tread is still good, wear is even, tires still look good. And all 4 are holding air at exactly 100 psi. I check them often now.

Here's the stats on mine as written on the actual tire:

Trailer Tires
Hercules H-901
All Steel Radial
DOT 1YC 2ARHHE
Made in Thailand
Regroovable
All Steel
ST235/80RR16

Rim 6.50
Tubeless

*Tire failure due to underinflation / overloading or misapplication – follow tire placard instructions in vehicle
Check inflation pressure frequently with an accurate guage
*Explosion of tire / rim assembly due to improper mounting – only specially trained persons should mount tires
When mounting use safety cage and clip-on extension air hose to inflate

L.R.G

Plies: Tread Steel 4 sidewall steel 1
Max. load single 3970 LBS (1800 kg) at 105 PSI (725 KPC) Cold
Max. load dual 3525 LBS (1600 kg) at 105 PSI (725 KPC) Cold

Brand lightly here.

I was going to put the "85" series on but blew a tire this summer due to road hazard and the dealer in Silver City NM could only get the SAILUN tires. $960 out the door

I’ve been running Hercules tires for three years now. They’ve been to So. Florida and back to Idaho 3 times. Out tonMichigan and down to So. Arizona. I guess IVe got my money’s worth out of them. Oh and they are going to go to Michigan and then to So Florida again in. November. They are made by cooper. Where? Who the hell knows.
