Dual AC but only 1 is heat pump?

My 2023 377FL has 2 ac’s…..the front one is definitely a heat pump (the thermostat in the kitchen has electric heat setting available) but the ac in the bedroom does not have that setting in its thermostat. Can one be purchased for it? Why would one be a heat pump and not the other? How can I tell of they are different? I can find no literature regarding its functions and the dealership I bought it from seems to be fairly clueless about it (they didnt know that one was not a heat pump apparently). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We've had heat pumps on three different RVs...never used any of them. They won't warm under about 40 and ours were loud.

I agree with Cat320. Our fireplace takes the chill off better than than the heat pump. The 15k unit circulates heated air in the racetrack ductwork - so i suppose they figured a 2nd heat pump in the 13.5k unit was not warranted.

John,

Your rig comes with a single heat pump. Your a/c is ducted so it really doesn't matter which end of the rig it is in. It will work fairly well for those 40-60 deg days, when it gets colder you need to go to the furnace.

Heat Pump

We pull a 2020 35' Montana which has a heat pump and we use it all the time. When it dips below 40 it is not as efficient but it still take the chill off. Love it since not using propane! Love the heat pump plus the fireplace which keeps us comfortable most of the time!!

I agree with Gubs. We have a ‘2021 3761fl 41’ long. The heat pump does well down to 40 or so degrees then the furnace kicks in and also worms the basement.

I've used our heat pump down into the teens and 20's. You have to supplement with additional heat, either the fireplace or a space heater (both if it's cold enough), but the electric is paid for and the propane is not, so I use electric whenever possible.

Your heat and the gs furnace heat both the front and rear of the camper. So don’t need a separate heat pump for the rear. The a/c is two separate units one for the front which is run off the heat pump and a 2d a/c for the rear. That’s why you have two thermostats one in the front and one in the bedroom.

You will find in cold weather normally around 35-40 the heat pump will not heat enough to stay warm. You will need to use you gas furnace or a space heater. Above 45-50 the heat pump will work while at least in my unit it does.
As for information on them I find a lot of my info on u tube and a search for the type of unit you have.
