Adding a larger TV in a 2004 Monte?
2004 3255RL
Our new to us has no TV. The cabinet for the TV is awful small. How can a larger TV be added? When the slide come in, does not leave really any room for a larger one mounted outside of the cubby hole.

Lots of members have replaced their tube TVs with flat screens in the earlier Montanas. Yes, there is room for it when the slide comes in. You will want to reinforce the cabinet so you can mount a TV bracket. One that pulls out so you can rotate the TV is desirable. A larger TV than the "hole" can be used as it sits outside the "hole". The size is limited by the distance from the wall to the hallway assuming you don't want to dismount the TV every time you move.
A Search should find the older discussions on the TV replacement. Use the keywords "tube tv replace" in the Search box above to see at least 10-12 discussions on this project.

Below are pictures of my TV setup. I made a door that covers the TV opening. Installed an articulating TV mount, ran the wires through the door. Also installed L brackets that the TV rests on when traveling. Velcro secures the TV. When in use, TV offsets into the slide so it doesn't block the stairs.

Different floor plan but I think my TV location is similar to yours, being behind a slide when that slide is retracted. The LED LCD TVs are very thin and do not extend much off the wall. Being retired and nothing better to do at the time, I got a little carried away on my modifications, but just shows another way to do it. A simple sturdy piece of plywood would mount it just as well.
Mine is a 32" Samsumg LED LCD TV and was just about as large as I could go for the room I had. I made a narrow shelf to go under the TV for support when traveling with adhesive backed felt pads stuck to the bottom of the TV to soften the ride and velcro straps to hold it in place.

2007 3400RL. We replaced both our old tube TV's with flat screens about 8 years ago. The bedroom TV (smaller than living room) is on a fixed mount. The living room TV is mounted on a swivel type bracket that locks in place for travel, and allows the TV to be extended and swiveled when we are parked and slides open. I had an RV repair place do the work.

@Hblick48 My 2001 3280RL looks almost identical to yours inside. EDIT: I see you have the same model.
The previous owners had replaced the TV with a 32" on a swivel arm. Probably works well, but we don't watch much TV. Who knows! maybe now that we have it on it's permanent site, we'll add another.
We heavily remodeled ours too.
Inside the cabinet under the TV we put our "office".
Did you replace the oven?
Did you also round the corners of your counter?

Yes, that is a new oven. The counter top is original from the factory with rounded corners.
BTW, the TV is a 42 inch.

Thanks everyone for the pics and suggestions. I went with a TV stand I had, 45 cut the corners and set it up where the dining table was. We rarely used it the table, more of a junk catcher. Bolted it to the floor and used L brackets on the back side, screwed into the studs. Tested the slide and no clearance issues
