Grand Canyon South to Cameron, AZ Hwy 64
Has anyone taken their 5th wheel (recently) on Hwy 64 from the south Rim directly to Cameron, AZ via Hwy 64? Looks like a direct route but maybe not as clean as heading down to Flagstaff and then back up 89 towards Page, AZ.

We haven't...yet. But we plan to this May. RV Trip Wizard routed us on Hwy 64 to Trailer Village RV Park so my assumption is that it is a passable road for RV's. Plus, it appears to be the only way in to that park so here's hoping...

We took that route in February after we left Trailer Village. We were headed from there to Monument Valley. 64 exits the NP East Entrance just past Desert View. No change in road condition from what was in NP. We were then on 89 for a short section before turning onto 160. No issues that I remember. I do remember it has great scenic views.

Dave, are you going north to Page or south to Flagstaff? I can't comment on 64 but can tell you 89 south of the junction with 160 is not great. Lot's of frost heaves; I slow to about 50 on that stretch and then it is ok; only about 20-30 miles. I think it is only south bound lanes that have the issue; northbound from Flag is not as bad.

We took 64 from Cameron to the south rim a couple of years ago. Nothing to worry about at all. Good road, no crazy curves or grades.

We are heading to Page, AZ and beyond. Didn't really want to head back towards Flagstaff to get to Page.

I would take 64, then north on 89 to Page.

Did the Cameron thru Grand Canyon to Williams. Roads were great. Once in the Park, there are multiple lookout points with dedicated parking areas. The pull out sections along the main road are not big enough for rigs +50feet. Not many areas to pull over without the Rig being on the main road if you miss the pullout sections.
If heading to the Monuments ensure you fill up in Cameron. Not many fuel stations heading north.
