water heater

2018 Montana HOT water heater leaking.
Need to find water shut off to tank. Is there one? How to find it?
If no shut off I will need to install one as we are living full time within!
Help appreciated

Hhowie - there is no cut off valve to the water heater.
Your water heater (3950BR) is on the passenger side. To access the back side of the water heater, remove the basement wall and you should see the red and blue pex piping.

There is no shutoff for the water heater other than maybe using the "Bypass " valve???

Depending on your model, you can maybe access the back of the heater by removing the rear wall of the pass through compartment (6 or so screws). Otherwise you can, and may have to, remove the WH from the outside. ot a tough job assuming you can access the gas and water lines to disconnect them.

Thanks very much. As I assumed it would be, dang it!
I'll need to install an inline valve to the cold water infeed line.
will be a couple of days before replacement is complete.

What Carl said. Use the water heater bypass valve in the convenience center
