So we bought a new Montana (3921FB) in Jan. 2017 and overall been very pleased but have added several upgrades. Been to California twice, Colorado, Canada, New England, Smokey Mountains numerous times and numerous short trips from Florida. I started thinking about upgrading our main room TV to a “smart” TV. Decided to do some measurements and was shocked by what I found. The TV’s that we’re installed at the factory are all Insignia brand (3 TVs) and to my amazement all 3 had stickers on the back that said “refurbished”! Thought I paid for new stuff when we bought the RV! Maybe I should have looked at the back before now but never saw the need. Kinda makes you wonder, what else?

I am curious about where you bought yours. They usually ship without the TV’s installed because of theft, I believe. Could it be your dealer put them in?

Doesn’t matter who did it, he paid for a new trailer and that means everything associated with it. Selling refurbished equipment is reprehensible if not illegal. I would contact Montana for an explanation.

Our unit was manufactured Nov 2017 and we bought it late January 2018 with 3 Insignia TVs. I replaced the living room TV with a Samsung smart TV a few months ago. I don’t remember seeing a refurbished sticker before I sent it to Goodwill, but I will go out and see if the other two are refurbished. All the TVs have worked fine - I just wanted to upgrade the living room unit.

our 2017 came from the factory with stickers that say when we replace them to recycle them at Best Buy, it doesn't say refurbished.

Insignia is Best Buy's house brand. Are/were they under contract to supply these TVs and just put in low buck refurbs to help their bottom financial bottom line? Our '14 HC came with mid level Vizios which are still working very nicely

will say in specifications in the fine print, they reserve the right to change materials and specifications at anytime without notice. When we bought our `18 they changed the tv and fire place cabinetry and fire place style from the `18 we looked at to the one we got on order without any notification to us. They also changed the color of the cabinets to a grayer color over the browner color.
I question this on delivery and the dealer said they have no idea of what changes Keystone has made mid year until they get the unit. It wasn`t a deal breaker and we bought anyway. Trying to get a couple of hundred dollars compensation considering the cost of the unit will just raise your blood pressure and drive a wedge in-between you and your dealer. I`m sure it has the same warranty as new......but some people..............

The real question is why they DON'T install smart TV's in the first place for what people pay for these Montana's. Replaced ours too, and use the factory Jenson 50" for the storage compartment. At first I was surprised at Mike & Anita's findings of refurbished TV's being used, but now after owning my trailer for about a 1 1/2 years, and how they are put together by people who have no sense of pride, quality control, or supervision, it makes you more mad than anything else.

Update: I checked the back of my two remaining OEM Insignia TVs - both had the “Best Buys” sticker but nothing said “refurbished”.

Well, I suppose if you purchased the camper in 2017, that television has serviced your needs for 4 years. I don't see where you got cheated or short changed at all.

Our Outback came with a brand new television and it lasted only 2 years before it completely failed and we purchased a replacement that lasted another 3 years when we traded the Outback for our current Montana and we left the television in the Outback. FYI, Outback is also a Keystone product.

So, I think you've done well.

My 2013 tv didn't work almost immediately. The dealer said to just go buy one and bring them the receipt and they would pay X dollars. I think it was like $400. Worked for me.

It is difficult to check things when buying new RV's to look for everything. It is exciting to walk into a new RV, we still didn't do the correct thing when we bought the 2021 Montana 3762BP, we have Jensen's, will more than likely replace them with Samsungs. It is because of cost is why RV manufactures put in cheap brands of TV's.

Happy trails.

I agree, RV manufactures in many cases use cheap material, the workmanship is not near what it was in 2010 when we had a SOB custom built. Lot of it is we who buy new RV's, not doing the proper pre-inspection.

Happy trails.

Just an oversight; the dealer was supposed to remove the “refurbished “ sticker as part of the pre-delivery prep.

Honestly, comments like yours about hard working folks trying to make a living is what makes me mad. There's a saying "until you walk a mile in another's shoes"... comments like the above come across as just a cheap shot.

Just my view of the world from where I currently sit...

The TV in our 2020 lasted 7 months, one month beyond the warranty, according to Keystone 6 months on TV's and stereo, replaced it with a Samsung. 4 years of bouncing around for a low end house brand sounds pretty good.
