Vinyl plank flooring installed

Last fall I found a leak in our big living room slide out. In the process of repairing part of the flooring in it I pulled the carpet. From there I pulled the carpet from everything except the bedroom upstairs and replaced it with the click-to-fit vinyl plank flooring with the attached pad. It turned out okay. To cover the seam where the slide-out meet the main floor, I used corner trim and 1/2" quarter round. Anyway, here's some pics of the final project.

Very nice! I have a neighbor that put in the vinyl plank flooring. It seems very nice and appears quite durable. Happy trails.

Looks real nice. I like that much more than the carpet.

I have some extra flooring and wanted to do that to my rig. Question I have is mine has a carpet flap that hides the stuff under the slide. Did yours have that flap in the carpet.

Yes it did. In the pictures you can see the white part of the plastic ramp on the main floor. Then I used the wood trim pieces to cover up the metal strip next to it. I couldn’t think of any other way to cover that white part so I just left part of it visible.

I used ProCore Plus from Lowes. The color is warm honey oak. The plus is the flooring with the built in pad.

2 questions first how did you get the carpet off the slide edges ours fold over? Second have you had any issues with buckling when you bring the slides in. My brother is freaked about it happening.

Looks very nice. Do you have an estimate for how the weight compares to that of the carpet that was removed?

Really nice! I have basically the same trailer as you and might copy your easy-to-keep-looking-clean style.

Did our 2013 325RL with click in floating LVP throughout. Been installed for 6 Months, full time use. use Bissel Crosswave for cleaning. Works great. Best upgrade for carpeted rigs.

Has anyone tried replacing their carpet with glue down LVT. I was planning on using a high grade vinyl plank with a thick wear layer, no backing, and no click lock. I would use pressure sensitive adhesive for the bond.
It would give a great bond and a plank could easily be repaired if damaged. There is no lock and the adhesive never hardens so that section can be released. Just drop new replacement plank in its place.

Give it a try... I did tack down the perimeter with a brad nailer and in a few other locations. The slide transitions were were capped with a bullnose transition and were fastened with adhesive and brads. Solid as a rock.

Great job. Really looks nice. We are going to replace the flooring in ours this summer. I have been looking at the plank flooring and will probably use it. We do have carpet in the slide out and we want to stay with carpet in that area. We also want to replace the carpet in the bedroom. Haven't been able to find any replacement carpet. Has anybody replaced carpeting? Where could I find it?

Looks nice. Looks professional. Any issues with floor preparation?

No prep issues at all other that the need to make sure the sub floors are clean and flat with no carpet tack strips and staples. Check for and repair any floor rot and soft spots. Double check floor area under sliders for debris. Carpet under bed can be a challenge to remove. Dry fit new flooring under sliders (including bed slider) for buckling and coverage when slider in and out. Have fun!

DAVE in AZ: Looks like a great idea and great job...well done. I'm getting ready to do the same thing. Mind giving me a couple of pointers? I'm wondering about the thickness of vinyl plank in relation to slide operation. Particularly when the slide tries to close... is there a problem with the slide trying to "jump" over the edge of the plank as it first starts in or do slide work OK regardless? Especially in the Kitchen where there is no existing carpet. It looks like the slide isn't designed to be able to climb up over the edge of a plank. Was your trailer like that? If so how did it work?

I had the same trailer as you but went to a diesel pusher. Had new carpet installed for $3000 (bummer). Then came back to a 5er (so I could spend more money). Could'nt find a Montana in the condition I wanted but found a SOB with the same floor plan. Needs new flooring. I hate to tear out carpet and replace with vinyl planking the find that slides aren't happy. Remove planking and pay another $3000 for carpet and install. I'd really appreciate any recommenations you have.
