Question 3790RD Front Thermostat question

So last night was our first in our new 3790RD, overall we are loving the layout. I switched the thermostat in our bedroom to FURNACE and the A/C unit came on. Not what I was expecting.

Is the front unit a Heat Pump too? It did not seem to put out any heat (but equally it was not really a/c style cold air either).

I was expecting the house furnace to come on.

I have to say I am disappointed that Keystone don't build these with programmable thermostats. That was a mod I did to my old unit.

Thanks
Chris

Front thermostat says heat pump but its only for ac, keystone used same thermostat in both living room and bedroom. They would have needed to make a different thermostat for the two areas and they decided not to. We personally spoke to a Montana product manager at a recent local RV show and We asked him the same question and that was his response.
Its very confusing.

Thanks Jilly - very helpful. So the bedroom thermostat only controls the front AC, and has nothing to do with the furnace - which is only controlled via the thermostat in the living room. Got it.
Thanks!

On our unit the front thermostat only controls the AC. For heat we have to select zone 1.

I added heat strips to ours. So I do get heat on my front a/c.

Can I ask how effective are those heat strips?
