Changing to King Sleep Number - Anyone else?

We are in a 3791RD and swapping out the OEM (low quality) king mattress with a sleep number RV king. I am assuming I need to replace the plywood base....making it bigger where possible...especially at the sides and end. Will be careful at the end not make it too long as it pushes up against the chest of drawers. I've done this in my Cougar TT.

What I'm curious about....has anyone else done this in the 3790 or 3791? Am curious about where they sourced the power and placed the pump.

Any experience and advice would be greatly appreciated!!

I have 3000RK, installed a Comfortaire king with rounded corners in mine.Increased the size of the platform and installed brackets to support it. When the slide is closed it stops right at the cabinet. The air pump is on the side of the platform. I plug it in at the power receptacle in the closet. Have seem the pump mounted under the platform somewhere in this forum.

On our 3800, I ejected the mattress before we left the dealer and then replaced what was there with the proper size of ply on the top and bottom of the platform. I used cabinet grade ply from lowes and then put pre-finished molding on the sides and bottom edge of the ply to cover raw edge and protect legs, etc from scrapes if rubbed wrong. I could have put the pump on the slide floor next to the forward side, but chose to set it under the head of the bed with holes in top ply for the hoses and a hole out the side of the 1/8" platform for the 120vac plug since a wall outlet is in the forward side of the slide. The pump is so reliable you really don't need to access it and if you do want to...slide the mattress down, remove a couple of screws, and there it is. On our model, I could have tapped into electric feeds under the platform since power for the washer and dryer runs are there or tapped into the feed used to supply the nightstand on the wifes side. Ran to monty in storage. This pic is underneath the head are of bed. Assuming slide mechanism is below. Is it ok to splice into romeo there and add an outlet under there?

We too went with a sleep number. We bought the California King with the radius edge, but it is a bit longer than the original mattress. When I close the slides I do,have to raise the platform up, when slides are closed, I lower the platform and the mattress just sits there.
We did not extend our platform, we have an outlet that my husband just plugged it into.
We have it for 2 years, love it and no problems.

Found this outlet. Looks like it's intended to be installed "in line". I have romex running under the bed...see pictures in earlier post.

What do you think? Good solution for a plug for a sleep number pump?

We took the queen Sleep number out of the S&B and put it in the Monty. The stock king went to the dump. Just had to cut down the base a little bit. We like the extra room it gives us, plus the queen size is what we have always used. And we replaced the one in the S&B with another Sleep Number. I thought about running a line for a plug in the bed slide, but for as often as we change the air pressure, it works for us to just plug it into the closet outlet...it!s already there.

We had the dealer take the original mattress out when we picked up our unit. had a king size sleep number in our S&B for 15 years. Purchased a queen to use as we are full timing, didn't want to change.
