Black marks on Slides

I keep developing vertical black marks on the Slides where the slides meet the rubber seal when closed.

I keep cleaning the marks off, but as soon as I travel down he road, open the slides, the marks have returned. It is obvious there are coming from the rubbers seals.

Any fixes out there for this issue?

Although trying an application of baby powder on the slide seals as recommended by some on the MOC, I had the same issue as you ... black transferring from the bulb type seals on the slide itself to the fiver sides. I cleaned the gunk off the slide seals really well and now either use Aerospace 303 or Formula 1 Mr Leather Cleaner and Conditioner (the latter found at Menards). No more black on the outer walls around the slides and the seals seem more pliable.

I spray regularly with 303 and wax the sides of the slides. Helps make it easier to clean, reduces the marks, but does not eliminate. Have no solution.

Mineral oil will work well too.
