Cabinet Kickboard Accent Lighting Mod

Has anyone installed LED lighting along the cabinet kickboards? I want to install 12 volt accent lights controlled by a single on/off/dimmer switch. I am currently looking at these daisy chained together:

How about under cabinet lights? Some have installed them and it seems they could also be placed by the kick plate.
