Outside LED Install Plan B

I decided to tap off the 12V power to the TV in the bedroom since my porch light just wasn't in the right place on my 3150. Used a Dremel tool to make slots allowing for the connector in the awning bracket and on thru the outer wall to just inside the shelves around the bedroom TV. I soldered a size N DC power plug from Radio Shack to a power wire and used a dual spade terminal to tap directly into the 12V DC power in the TV plug ... no fuss no mess with the dual terminal. The antennae wire is threaded in the day night shade string so I can just point the remote at the bedroom window to operate the LEDs. I put a stained piece of 1/4 plywood to cover the remote control box ... it looks closer to matching than the photo seems to indicate.

But the dumb question is, does this light draw bugs?

Whoever advertises LED's won't attract bugs may also be wanting to sell you some ocean front property in Wyoming ... however ... if you do change colors towards the orange range ... not as many bugs share your campsite.

I like this install. I have a 3150RL also and was not satisfied with connecting to porch light.........considering the location.

I just purchased an inexpensive
Converter made the connection under the trailer no drilling hole or tapping into circuit

Ken ... assuming the LEDs are just below the awning and your converter is under the trailer ... how did you route the power wire from the belly to where the connector is on the LED string without it showing somewhere? Where did you mount the remote box that incorporates the antenna? I'm just curious and hope you already know the remote box is not waterproof. The LEDs operate off 12VDC, so that's why we've either tapped off the porch light or tapped into 12VDC as I did. The converter that came with the LED kit was just a bit bulky and didn't have very good reviews from people that had already purchased the set that many of us have.
