Dish tailgater security

Now that I've got this thing hooked up I can't keep it in one place. The wind keeps wanting to blow it down thee road. Has anybody put a net of some sort over it?

I've seen a number of these units just sitting on the roof of the slide-out- I'm giving serious thought to trying this method out- Don

get a bungy cord, and 2 tent stakes and secure it down to the ground that way

I took a piece of the poly cutting boards and zip tied it to the top of my ladder. Can bungee the wires to the ladder to keep them from rattling. I took a base that you can buy in the mounting kit and bolted it to the poly and then the sat sits in this. You turn the other piece and it locks the dish to the base. If you look at these mounting kits on line I'm sure you could make one to work similar. I use my step ladder and then pull the dish up with a rope.

How about a milk crate/plastic. Provide a wide foot and sides that keep if from blowing over.. and a secure place to store it when traveling.

Wow. Had not even thought about that being a problem. Some really high winds and mine has never turned over. Have always just set mine on the ground.
I keep an assortment of bungees and tent stakes. Guess I will give that a try if the problem does come up.

I've got it tied to the top of the ladder right now, when we get home i'll make something more substantial Along the lines of what y'all suggested. Thanks

At least yours is working. We had ours just over a year, use 4 times, and it stopped working (and it never tipped over in the wind). Now it's back at King Controls (manufacture) hopefully getting fixed and will not cost us too much.

We had a similar problem so I went up on top of the trailer pulled the manual roof mounted dish off, mounted the Tailgater to a 12" square aluminum plate, then screwed the aluminum plate to the roof where the other dish was mounted making it a permanent fixture. I used almost a whole tube of that expensive sealer so it wouldn't leak. We are now 13'5" when hooked up to the truck. So far it's worked great with no problems.
