Cabinet Doors Shifting?

Suspect model...2005 330-RKBS
Problem...cabinet doors hitting each other when closing.
Solution...help me firends.

I first noticed the cabinet doors on top of the entertainment center were not closing propperly on my first trip. I am now up at my parents and the cabinet doors above the dresser are now hitting when I close them. Is it just me being picky or is my unit shifting too much?

Thanks for the help
Phil

Hi Phil,

Did you check the little screws in the hinges ? It seems on some trailers the screws are coming loose and
that might cause the doors to touch each other. Some of the wood that the screws are in, is very soft and doesn't
hold screws very well. Worth a look. If so go to your local home improvement store and get 5/8" screws and replace the 1/2" screws in the hinges. Others words you might have to fill hinge holes and move the hinges up or down a little.
Keep us posted.

If it is a loose screw and not poor alignment, another little carpenters trick is to remove the offending screw that won't tighten down, insert a toothpick into the screw hole, break it off flush with the surface, and reinstall the screw. Do not overtighten.

Yep, I did the toothpick thing in a pop-up camper (and I think I may have used a little wood glue too) that we had the problem with the screw being stripped in the hinge holding a cupboard door and it worked like a charm.

Sounds like you are the victim of the "over torquer"..welcome to the club. Check for loose hinge screws on all your doors.
