Electric Door Lock Recommendation
Bought the electric front door lock from camping world made by Bauer Products. It just died after a little more than a year. The $2 motor inside it gave up. Manufacturer will not sell a replacement motor then proceeded to scold me for not calling tech support. Needless to say I will not buy another of their products.
Does anybody have a recommendation that may last longer than a year and is manufacturer by a company that actually cares about their customers?

We bought one from Lippert. Most folks have been ok with them. We had three replacements installed by Lippert and finally gave up and just use it like a regular lock.

Bought ours at last year's rally. We left Goshen going west on a 8 more week trip. Once we got to NM and were staying for a week, I tried installing it. One of the two halves fell away when I was taking it out of the box and pulled the interconnecting wires out of the pins. Had to wait until I got back home to repair that, but then two months later the deadbolt lock stopped working with a key. Found out reading the little print that it was only warranted for 90 days after purchase. Tossed it into the recycling and went back to a manual one.

Try RV Lock, have one of theirs for 3 1/2 years now, plus you can get Key Fobs that work with their lock.

It's RV lock we're talking about. Work good for some, not so much for others.

We have used RVLOck in our last two fifthwheels with no issues. The locks on our previous unit wer 3.5 years old without any problems.

I wonder if the throwing the dead bolt puts too much pressure on the motor of the lock causing it to burn out the windings in the motor.
I know that my Dead Bolt is a fairly hard turn with the key, and it also is a new lock. but its a manual type. 34.00 verses 230.00 you can buy a lot of manual locks for that kind of money.
Ill wait until the techknology get more reliable.

Interesting turn of events likely due to my review of the product on camping worlds website. The manufacturer sent me an email and explained why they don't sell replacement parts (parts stock etc). He then went on to offer me a replacement lock. Said they will ship it out first thing in the AM. Sounds good to me and I'm happy with the outcome but everything would have been easier if the snippy lady on the phone had explained "anything".

We agree with RV Lock. Ours has both keypad and remote. We tried the Bauer on the other 5er we had but as was stated above, after a few months the deadbolt quit.
RV lock seems much better!
