Questions

I am new to fifth wheels and recently bought a new 2015 Montana 3100RL. My Dimplex fireplace manual's operational controls appear different than the ones on the fireplace. There are four buttons on the top right of the fireplace. I'm able to turn the fireplace and the visual flame on and off, but have been unable to get the heat, fan or thermostat to work. Also, the remote doesn't, work as we'll.

Also, the RV control panel has two switches for the water heater. The one on the left is marked gas and the one it's right is marked electric. Between the two is a small red light with DSI marked on top and FLT underneath. I didn't receive a control manual and my dealer orientation was a bit overwhelming ( wished I'd video taped it).

Any advise me about the fireplace operation and the water heater panel control switches?

On our 2015 we have two rocker switches at the top right followed by a rotary knob type of switch to the left of the two. Our far right knob has 3 positions and in the center position everything is off dead. When switched to the right it brings on the flame and you are in manual mode. When you are switched to the right you are in remote mode and one uses the remote on ours for on and of only. The second from the right turns on the heat element either the remote mode or the manual mode and needs to be in the on position for any type of heat. The rotary knob is the heat thermostat and I believe we have to rotate it to the right to increase the desired temp.
Hope this helps with your model.

Sorry and now for the second part of your post. The DSI/FLT light will light up when you initially turn on the hot water tank gas switch. It tells you the hot water tank is trying to light the gas burner. Once your tank is ignited on propane and running the light should go out.

FYI...you can get the fireplace users manual on their website. All you will need is the model #.

On the control board, you can operate the water heater on electric or gas. The DSI (Direct Spark Ignition) will turn red when the heater is lighting and go out when lit. I believe the FLT means "fault" and will come on if the heater does not ignite.

You should have gotten a stack of documentation when you bought the rig. Go back to the dealer and demand they provide..

You will find that most of the user manuals are only good for fire starter material. You will find the best help right here. So far everyone has given you great advise and info.

Congrats on the new rig and wishing you many happy miles and adventures!

Also, on the water heater, you can get the maximum recovery rate by running both gas and electric, as specified in the Suburban operating manual.

.

Do not agree. Good info and instructions in those vendor brochures and info sheets. Great reference material.
