What is the difference?

C.W. Has a Winegard Trav'ler Direct TV Triple LNB dish was $1555, marked down to $1199.99 Prez club. (A 3003)
I thought the 3003 was just Dish TV, are they advertising wrong?
EBay has one for $1462: a SK-3005
I think that is the one I need for Direct TV.
(I got the antenna for the tripod, just thinking of getting another automatic.)

Edit, edit:
The 3003 is not HD...
I did find one (SK 3005 for $1379)

The triple LNB is an outdated model for DirecTV. It was their HD dish originally. It has been replaced by the Slimline when they started using 5 satellites. The triple will still get all non-HD programming for DirecTV, but it will pick up no HD. If you feel you will not want HD it will work, but then you could get a better deal on a dome unit anyway. In my opinion I would not invest in that model for DirecTV at that price.

Greg,
Thanks. I want the auto sat. dish. I noticed when the boys delivered the dish it had just one LNB.

Ozz,
For Directv HD the only option is a Winegard TRAV'LER DIRECTV Slimline Ka/Ku Multi-Satellite TV Antenna. You should be able to get it for less than $1400 if you shop around. Adventurerv.net has them for $1380 plus about $60 shipping for the start of your price comparisons, it sounds like this is where you got the price. The SK-3005 is the correct model number. You probably already know all this, so consider it as confirmation

Wow I would think long and hard before spending $1500+ dollars to watch tv in a camper. I guess if you lived in it alot of months out of a year it might be a different story. Just my .02 cents.

Hey, it's only money, right Ozz? Just think of it as a technological investment.
(Bingo understands this concept)

I know, it seems like a bunch of money, but it isn't just a camper. It will be our home. Now, we work hard and watch TV. In a short time we will travel...and watch TV. I like my TV. I like my HD TV.
When we traveled before, we stopped for the night, put out the slides, pushed the Green button, the sat. automatically found, locked in and held the position. It is nice. and worth it to us.
I know it would not be for everyone, and while I am still working, I feel the cost is money well spent. For us.

I agree wholeheartedly with Ozz on this one. Having the experiences, trials, and frustrations of using a portable dish for years, I feel it was well worth it to push a button and let technology do the searching and locking in of the signal. Others may differ, but I got converted and have no plans of going back!!!

You convinced me guys. I like my HD also. Right now my wife and I camp on the weekends, so tv isn't a priority. I'll probably be spending the big bucks someday soon enough, when we do more traveling.

You are a metal artist! I love your work. Why pick a John Deer? Beside the obvious, great quality and a long history of great products. I love the practical products you produce. I made a dump box for the back of my Kubota, I'll send you a picture of it. You are a lot like me, it will take a large crow-bar to pry you from your business
