Ground Fault?

I have a TRC Digital Monitor permanently plugged into one of the 110V outlets and this morning it started intermittently alarming and showing GF on the display. We had been in the same campsite for 2 days before this happened and poking a multi-meter into the outlet didn't show anything amiss. The 2 GFCI outlets were also OK.

Any ideas why it would be intermittently showing a ground fault? The manual that came with the unit didn't provide any clues.

Thanks
Craig

Craig, I'm not familar with the Digital Monitor you are using but is it possible the monitor is bad/defective/marginal???? Having spent a number of years in the communications business I have found most monitoring type equipment will indicate adnormalities that have no effect on the service. Jim

Take a multimeter and check AC voltage between neutral and ground. I'll bet you will see a couple of volts. Maybe you had a rain storm come through or a heavy dew in the morning.

It doesn't take much to show a GF.
