110v light bulb is 12v lamp socket

OK, electricians, can you put a 110v light bulb into a lamp that is on the 12v service and will it work? We are thinking of putting up a couple of pendant lights as others have done. We are having a hard time finding 12v incandescent light bulbs to put in the pendant lamps.

A 110 volt light bulb on a 12 volt circuit will be only 1/10 as bright but it will work. Put up the pendant light fixtures and put 12 volt bulbs in them and they will work just fine.

Look up "1000 light bulbs" on the internet. You can find anything there.

you can also get 13 watt cfl's with a medium base, that are 12v...and there are 50 and 25 watts ones all over the place. Check ebay as well.

I just switched out all my main lights that were 12v to 110v fixtures, and put 12v bulbs in 'em.

Why? because they were the fixtures I wanted, and had them on hand anyway.

12 v incandescents are often used in work lights, check at an auto suppy place or a good hardware store.
