This subject has raised its head many times and my solution to the "no toilet paper down the toilet" was to install a Bidet. And ahhhh...... that will add more water to your tank at the same time!
But, if you don't want to do that, then why not just fill the bowl with water before you go, then go, then push the pedal and you've added water to the tank.
You can also backflush from your grey tank if you attach a Flush King or flush with your black tank rinser (if you have one).
Unless your camper is fixed stationary at a permanent or season site, the tank of a residential toilet will shake back and forth when traveling, probably break since they are made of porcelain, or at best, the seal between the tank and the bowl would leak because the tank wiggled back and forth while the trailer is in motion.
If you are parked permanently, then you won't have this problem. And yes, you can do it on a stationary site without any problems, provided you've got the plumbing down pat.
