Make A Storage Bench in Dining Room?

We just got our 3855BR and the two additional chairs in the dining room are just crappy folding chairs. I was thinking of making a seat bench with shoe storage on the side. This dining area is in the pop-out. Has anyone ever made a bench and how did you anchor it? I attached a picture of the area.

We have been thinking the same thing. Wasted space where a bench seat could be used for additional storage.

No need to anchor it down. It won't move, and gives you options to change later. Or simply pick up a couple of these and save a lot of time and expense building something:

Or something line this, click here - need only 1 this way.

or this, click here.

We ended up removing all 4 of our stand alone chairs and replaced them with 4 of these: Click here. They fold up and can be put out of the way, opening space around the table, or take them outside if we want too. Haven't missed the wooden kitchen chairs at all.

Ours came with 4 chairs - but even those are useless space wasters. I contemplated doing just that too.

Design a nice bench seat at the slide wall. Suggest you look at other brands, even TTs that have bench seats to get an idea of dimensions then have an upholstery shop make up cushions to more or less match the rest of the 5ers upholstery.

I was thinking about doing this on the forward side of the table to start. DW sits there. I sit on the other side facing forward and find myself turning the chair about 45 degrees after dinner in order to see the television better while finishing up. Maybe I will decide to do both sides.
When I remodeled our kitchen at home I bought an extra piece of cherry end panel from the cabinet company so I could make a little bench next to the entry door from the garage. Seems I should be able come up with something, and having the cottage white option would be easy to match up.

I like the Walmart bench seat but I believe to fit it will need to be
L 38" x H 19" x W 24"
Then put a cushen against the wall under the window.
For the other side a bench the same dimensions. No back.
Replace the table. Remove the wall box.
On my "to do" list for this fall when we get home.

We ordered two storage benches on Amazon. Folding lid. Put one chair in storage and the other at the desk in the BR. The two folding chairs are under the bed in case we need extras. They are great for storage.
