Re: Freedom starts today...:-)

Whew....it's finally official...:-) Fulltiming starts as of now. What an incredibly long road to here!!

I had the movers scheduled for May 9th, but due to thunder and lightning storms, it was postponed a day. I ended up having to go with a bigger storage unit, and I had more things to come up than would fit in the bed of the truck. The hitch sure does take up a LOT of space!! So, I left here this morning, drove down to the apartment, loaded up the rest of the stuff, turned in the apartment keys...and said bye to my abode of the last 9 years. I'm back at the CG now, and I don't have to be anywhere, do anything (except for figure out where to put stuff), or answer to anyone...life is definitely good...:-) Tomorrow...is a brand new day!! HOOWAH!!

Congratulations, Jan. It has been interesting following another Michigander's trials and tribulations as you progressed to this point. Safe journeys and ENJOY!

Congratulations Jan on your new lifestyle. Here's hoping all goes well for you wherever you travel to. BTW we did mention your name at your selling dealer. We remember you saying A&S in Auburn Hills were great. We have ours in for axle replacement. Hoping we get it back in time for the northeast rally.

If you are like us, the task of putting things is a long term task. We are continuing to rearrange on the fly as we discover how we use the stuff and the unit. We are definitely becoming more efficient going forward.

We have also made adjustments as we learn how stuff travels as it gets jostled. One example is that we decided not to remove the dining table leaf on our trip through the Ozarks only to discover that it had tilted over. So now we will always remove it for travel.

We are also learning where we need to put the oak refrigerator bars and where they are not needed. We apply the airline rule: "open the overhead luggage compartment with caution. You luggage may have shifted in flight."

Congratulations Jan on your new lifestyle. What a feeling it is to do the things you want to do and when you want to do them.
