The aisin is what we have in ours. I dont see anyone swapping this for the allison. We do see the cummins being shoehorned into chevies and fords.

No one is better then the other.All have their issues but they all can do the job.

Lift pump with 2 micron filter such as fass or air dog on a duramax will help injectors and the injector pump (cp3 or cp4) . 2002 duramax 210000 miles going strong pulling my montana with a combined weight of 19000 pounds. Maintenence is number 1 . I change oil every 5000 miles and fuel filter every other .Water separator filter every third oil change. Doesn't burn a drop of oil.

Well, the 12-valves and B4T cummins are favorites for swapping into older Chevys, Fords, Dodges, and Jeeps because they are simple (pre-computer) compact, and they made a bazillion of them so they are dirt cheap. When they are hooked to an automatic trans it is usually an Allison or a TH400. Pre-computer Cummins are the Chevy small block of diesels.
As far as the duramax mustang, it is one of many Duramax swaps as they become more plenttiful.

The Diesel pickups are getting down in the 12 second bracket. On my Spartan tuner I usually run a 210 HP tune but can load a 310 race or a 350 sled pull tune. That’s 310 HP at the rear wheel not at the flywheel. You loose 22% at the rear wheel. That is some real power. I have no idea what my truck would run in the 1/4 mile and will not be finding out.
Fords tiny 2.7 twin turbo Ecoboost will run in the 12 second bracket with the right tune. My new F150 would out run the GTO I had in 1967 and weights 1000 pounds more with an engine less than 1/2 the size. These are the good old days for fast cars.

I know of a few shops that specialize in 5.9 swaps. ATS does them but I am not a fan of ATS. Another shop in NW Montana also does a bunch. Lots of them were put in Ford 6.0 trucks. Also what I was told is that the ford five speed auto was plenty robust to hold the 5.9 torque. I can not remember if they did any serious transmission upgrades or if it was mainly the torque converter.
All three trucks have good points and bad. Our plant mechanical engineer had his Allison transmission go bad. He tried to fix it and was not able to get it to work correctly. Ended up paying a dealership to repair it. Something went bad in the tail shaft area. Any thing mechanical can break.
