I have no issue with stopping 250 - 300 miles to fuel up and I surely don't take a half hour to 45 minutes to do it ... but admittedly I don't care for truck stops and paying the premium price for the honor of using FJ's or Pilot's services when a regular station 1/2 mile down the road has their diesel for 20 cents cheaper. (remember I'm 67' long double towing most of the time). For responders that lean towards the reasoning that they can get cheaper fuel to fill the spare tank when they want to ... say you extremely conservatively spent $600 on a 60 gal tank and you save 15 cents a gallon filling that tank ... that's $9. Am I figuring this wrong or will you have to go thru @67 tanks full to pay off the initial cost? At 12 mpg ... that's @48,000 miles. I fully understand that for many this is all about peace of mind, comfort, ease of access, or those emergency moments ... the part I don't get is the cheaper fuel scenario ... and as I type wondering how many of you actually sit in your truck for 6-8 hours without stopping to break up the trip?

Let change we all can reason our selfs to you can Reason your self, some don’t average 12 mpg and can’t make 250 miles on a tank... I’m not dealing with stopping a gas stations to deal with small fuel areas and autos that don’t give a ripe about getting in your way. Yes we all have our own reasons for the way we travel. Let’s not try to analyze way others do what they do and just accept people have different reasons.

I put in a 50 gallon in bed transfer flow tank. I now have a 82 gallon fuel capacity. I'm very glad I did it.

I bought a 60 gallon rds tank/toolbox with a pump and nozzle. I can fill up the Ram tank at rest areas if I wish. I love not having to go through a truck stop or a tight in town station every day. 32 gallon ram tank at 10 mpg doesn't get me very far.
We stayed at 3 campgrounds on our 1100 mile trip to Florida for the winter but I prefer not to unhook if I don't have to.

There was time when my mind was made up about upgrading to the Titan 55 gal tank for my 2017 RAM. That was before we starting towing. Now with several 250-300 mile tows under our belt... I'm less convinced the expense is worth it for our needs. Maybe a couple of 2-3 gal cans stashed in the bed(easier to manage than ~40lbs of diesel in a 5 gal can) and a hell of a lot cheaper than the Titan tank or any of the substantial aux tanks offered out there. The smaller portable cans are easy to top off the tank at a rest stop or potty break or to let the RV Security Beagle out to do her business. 250-300 miles is a day's travel for us and the extra 5 gallons would mean no stress once we arrive at our next stop assuming we stick to the 250-300 mile day. Leave at 930am and arrive at 2-3pm works for us. Mountain travel is a whole different kettle of fish and we would plan accordingly. The TSD card should mitigate the higher pump prices at locations that accept it so the diesel foraging experience is avoided and any extra fuel expense is covered by the savings of not forking out a ton for the extra bling of a snazzy fuel tank system.

My take only and as usual YMMV.

Love my Titan tank. Even when not towing the extra range is really helpful. On some of my hunts we get 75+ miles from the nearest gas station - who wants to make the 150 mile round trip to the gas station?

Those that have made to trip to AK do not want to sweat gas hoping all the stations are open on the Alaskan Highway.

There is that... and AK is in our plans but I'm not sure we will get that far off the beaten path. It's an adventure, right?

WOXOF both my Ford F-350 long boxes had 48 gallon tanks unless I misread everything. My old 7.3 Ford had a 38 gallon which was good sized back at the turn of the century. My 48 has worked out well, I am not saying that I would not like a 60 plus gallon tank until it was empty and I had to fill it up. I like the actual tank replacements, but they are spendy.

Yes you are correct at pilot and flying J because of the contract they have with good sams. But tying can open the map up and it will show you the prices around you. I just filled up the truck 48 on board and 50 in the bed of the truck and by using the tsd card saved us like $49.00 so yes it’s worth it.

Dadshemi, Welcome to the Titan Club. I replaced the 32 gallon tank in my RAM 3500 dually with a Titan 55 gallon tank, and it fits right where the OEM tank did, and it only sticks down about 1-1/2" lower, so just in case I bought their Kevlar shield to under it for protection. Now we never ever have to stop for fuel while we are connected to our 43' 5th wheel. It is the only way to travel.

You're going to love it. I had one put on my F350 just after I bought it. Nice to be able to go 500 miles plus pulling my 42' 5er.

Did the conversion to a Titian tank on my 2006 Chevy 6.6 d. Best thing I ever did!

Auxiliary Gravity feed

Agree with the earlier reply. F350 has a 26 gallon stock tank. Added an RDS auxiliary gravity feed tank. Tank valve stays open and gauge stays on full until I’m down into the stock tank.

Can shop for best quality and cost for my fuel.

Would not do without it.

I added a 75 gallon TransferFlow tank to the bed. It automatically transfers fuel to the main tank so both tanks drain together. My fuel gage is always correct. Plus I have a new digital display that shows both tanks levels. It’s a wonderful system. I can tow my 3791RD over 1000 miles without fueling. So I buy fuel when I want to. Not when I need it. It saves me tons of money. They even make a tank with a built in toolbox on top. That would be very nice.
Driving without the trailer attached I can go 1800-2000 miles. So I fill up once a month now on my daily driving to work.

I am very happy with my 50 gallon titan tank. That and the app GasBuddy allows me to fill up before I hit the road and avoid the high price stuff on the highway.

Best prices are at TA Truck stops. The fuel card is the best thing out there in my opinion. I know some people don’t like giving them their info, but they are extending you credit. Make sure you download the app too. You can see the fuel prices on a map.
