Quiet Cool AC on 2015 3440RL Maintenance?

On our new trailer, the main AC in the dining area is what they call a "Quiet Cool", it is totally ducted with no inside filters to clean. I looked through all the info that came with the trailer but nothing about any filter cleaning is there any maintenance to do on this AC?

Thanks

I have two rectangular air returns in the living room near each side of the ceiling that contain a mesh filter. Surely keystone didn't eliminate returns...maybe a different form factor. John

We have the two rectangular return vents as well. They do get dirty.

Is that where they hid the washable filters?

If you keep watch of those return vents, you will see them go from Black to a Gray/White as they stop some of the dust.

Today I was able to get into the Monty and remove the two rectangular ceiling AC vents. And you folks were right that's where the filters were. When I took them down both were just covered with sawdust and tiny wood fragments probably from construction. I like to understand things, so are these return vents back to the AC?

Thanks

Yes ... the return used to be in the mid ceiling unit with the quick cool dump ... now there are two separate ducts in your ceiling ... one supply ... one return.

I glued a 4"long by 1" wide pice of wood to the inside of the ceiling where the screws go that holds the grate in place. Otherwise the fiberboard holes wallow out and the grate will not stay in.

I agree with what was previously stated on the addition of substantial wood for your screws to hold. Also if you look into the vents they are usually full of sawdust and the vent ductwork might be collapsed. I took out lots of sawdust and still need to brace the ductwork. It is also interesting to see what a crappy job they did with the router when cutting out the ceiling for the return vent cover. One is bad and the other is terrible, not even close to a rectangle hole. My filters did not look like they were washable as they were a whitish color and the screws seemed to snag and distort them.

You can buy ac filter piece at Home Depot and you cut to size. Very inexpensive. I also had to brace up the ducting and it really improved the cooling. I could not see up in the vents so I put my iPhone camera up there and took a picture. It was quite a surprise to find the ducting completely blocked.

Yep that is what I do Home depot time for cheap filter material and I already braced up the ducting and it is pretty easy to do and it does help,I removed the ceiling grills and cut 1 1/2" pvc pipe into 6" length's. I reached up thru the grill opening and placed 2 pieces of pipe in the outer edges of the foam return air duct.

The pvc pipe propped the return air ducts open and increased the return air flow. ALSO what i did was cut a few of the angled louvers on the round output vents so the air goes DOWN not to the side or the ceiling

Well it was a Montana work day today. I took some strips of wood and glued them in the ceiling behind the return vent for the AC. At Menards I found some great AC filter material, cut out a bunch of them actually I think I got a total of 8 filters cut. I had some Velcro tape and I put a piece in all four of the corners behind the vent cover to hold my new filters in place. Assembled everything and boy did it feel good with the screws now going into a nice block of wood backing up the ceiling material.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Only relating to the 'quiet cool" featured AC's ... I may have my RV brands mixed up, but the mid year 2016's - current 2017's return grills in the ceiling are plastic with removable covers that hold the filter in place. No more removing screws as they just hold the base on, just bow the cover and it lifts off the base, filter and all. They can be had for about $15 each from the factory and have the same dimensions as the metal grills of discussion on this thread.
