Residential refrigerator

Would like to replace my double door Dometic in my early 2015 3610rl with a residential and looking for help on how to fasten it down. Keystone won't provide any info instead referring me to the dealer network. Has anyone made this change?

I put two lag bolts thru the back bottom frame near the back wheels. Near the wheel keeps from bending the thin bottom of the refrigerator. Took out the front leveler adjusters and used spacers to take up the gap to the floor and then lag bolt thu to floor. Has not moved yet.

My first thought would be to go with Don's lag bolt idea for the bottom and look for a way to install a trap at the top. For those that have a factory installed residential what method did Keystone use???

I wouldn't necessarily hold a factory install as the best idea...but it would be enlightening to hear the answer to that question. We might even hear about more than one way of factory mounting. Lag bolts would surely be the best method...front and back lag keeps any minute rocking from loosening the fasteners. Think rescue7 did it right. John

Well yes it would be interesting to see what Keystone did, if anything as I will be installing a Samsung RF18HFENBBC next Thursday.

Once the frig arrives I will be able to see where it can be anchored down and will check the manual for any hints of where it can be fastened.

I will take pictures of whatever I do.

Our destination trailer has a residential Refrigerator Hy Line the Mfg simply used L bracket sheet metal screwed to the frame at the bottom and wood screwed to the floor. I removed the wood screws to the floor so I csn roll the unit out. Can not see the L bracket shen the door is closed.
Also two L brackets screwed into the case at top rear and into the wall.not coplecated at All!

Many thanks to all!! I really appreciate all the feedback.
Looking forward to Bigboomer's pics as well. Want to see how he deals with the drawer currently under the fridge as I'll have to do the same.

the drawer and the old floor above drawer must come out to get the height you need for new one.
Screws for front filler strips have 2 screws on each side holding them in.

Went through the Montana factory today.. Residential refrigerator has a strap that mounts to back wall on both sides In between doors and freezer. another strap runs across front at that level and ties to hinge the side straps bolt to the front strap to remove unit. At the base of the doors and the top of freezer is a large knurled knob that screws into front strap to hold doors shut when traveling. Straps are about 1/2 inch wide and 1/8 inch thick.

Thanks Don for the heads up. I was looking something similar.

Hopefully what I do will last longer than the Dometic frig did!

Les,
These pics are great! It certainly provides a path for me to follow since we have the same rig. We're not taking our rig out again till next month so we'll see how the Dometic works after the last fix.

I'm going to start making plans for my install. Thanks once again for the assist.

Ric

Anytime Ric, that's the beauty of the MOC, we get to share with others our trials and tribulations so that others can benefit.

Good luck!
