Ceiling Fan
I need to replace my ceiling fan in my unit. I was wondering if any of you have had to do this and what make and model you used.
Thanks.

You should be able to use any "ceiling hugger" (no down-rod) fan that you choose.

Go to home depot or Lowes and take your pick. It has to be a "Hugger"

We have been lucky he fans on both our Montana's have been perfect. We did change out a fan on a SOB because of that hum.

This is another thing on my to-do list - ours hums and only has one speed. Hate the thing, but haven't gotten around to replacing it yet.

I agree with all of the above, but feel that you should either get the same size diameter fan or insure that there are no clearance issues with the slides retracted if you have a slide in the vicinity of the fan. Just a thought.

Good point Bingo. The blades on fan in the rear just clear the slides when in.

Thanks for the tips. I just bought a 44" unit made by Hampton Bay. Going to install it this afternoon and see how it goes.

Let us know how the retro fit goes, and if you have the dreaded humming fan disease when the job is complete.

The install was pretty straight forward. This fan is very quiet compared to the old one.

The fan looks great Dave, I'll be looking at Hampton Bay fans now, could you share the model, and does it have a remote.

The one we bought was the Whitlock 44 inch. It does not come with the remote. They had remote kits at Home Depot, but they were another $32. We decided to hold off on that for now.
