Has anyone slept in the bed when the bedroom slide is brought in?
Also you know when you run your city hose underneath the trailer, up into the water closet.
Any tips on a device that you can run your hose thru so critters don't run up the hose and get into the basement?
Currently using a small bucket, cut a hole to run the hose thru, shove it in the hole. Temporary till find something else.

Have not had to sleep in bed with the slide in, but don't see a problem with doing so if needed. As far as critters, have never thought about it, but if it is a problem, a tapered duct plug with a hole cut in the end of it would work nicely. Be nice if we could get to the bed with the slide in, but that's only for small kids and such. Got to put the bedroom out, although we've slept in the Monty plenty of times with only that out and still hooked to the TV. Ours came with two caps for the hole and I cut out one for the hose & cable if needed. Put some steel wool in whatever gap is left and that solves the problem.

Many of the newer models have the hallway situated so that you can if need be. Ours isn't set up that way. As to the critter question. We use a large car washing sponge in the hole and that way you can run hoses of various sizes (heated etc.) and also wires for cable or phone if need be.

We have slept in our bed with the bedroom slide in several times since ours is accessible when all slides are in, we just can't walk around the bottom of the bed.

Now being an old navy man I would go and buy a cheap plastic funnel with a spout large enough at some point to put the hose through, tape a stopper of some sort just below where the hose enters the convenience center so the funnel can only go down so far on the hose and slide it on each time you hook up. Same principle was/is used when ships are tying up to dock.

Never had a problem with critters going up the hose and the only way they can get from the convenience center anywhere is past the convenience center wall and the storage door, not much room there when the door is closed tightly.

We can’t access the bedroom at all with the slide in.

As for the critters our unit has the convenience center with the hole in the center of the floor with a screw in cap top and bottom. We just fill the hole with paper towels making sure the hose and TV wiring is in the center and then spray the paper towels from the bottom of the trailer with a household pesticide.

So far this had worked to keep even ants out.

Hate to burst anyones bubble, but if you have the level up system, then you have large holes that lead into the area under the floor of your monty and this also leads into the passthru area. Currently have a large frog living in there that once in a while sounds off like a quite version of a duck call. At least it will eat any bugs that venture into its domain. John

Can't get to the bed with the slide in. Might be able with it partially out, but would be a tight fit.

On the critter keeper outter, mine has a 4" marine inspection port with a twist off plug in the bottom of the convenience center. You are expected to remove the 4" port and run your hose and cable through it leaving a big enough gap to give access to mice, chipmonks, and any other crawling critter. I got an extra port cap and drilled two holes in it, one for the hose and one for the cable. I install it in place of the one used for travel and run the hose and cable through it.

No problem sleeping in the bed with the slide in. Just have to crawl in and out. I have done it many times.

To keep bugs from using the hose/cable etc. as an entry point, just put a gob of vaseline all the way around the circumference of the hose/cable near the entry point. They won't get past it. When breaking camp, just wipe it off. Don't know how it would work for mice etc.

As far as the bedroom slide, the dealer's service tech advised us to never sleep with the bedroom slide in. He said they were not designed to support the extra weight when in the travel position. I can kind of see that, as when it's out, it drops a bit onto the floor, and the upper part of the slide "locks" into place. We had to sleep in it once, when it was "in" and it did feel "spongy" that way.

As far as the hoses, etc, into the convenience center, I use a large (30 gallon) plastic garbage bag (empty of course) and stuff it into the hole around everything. I figure if they eat their way through that, they will die from plastic poisoning.

It also keeps the drafts/cold air out.
