Front A/C unit on "new style" units

Does anyone know what model of air conditioner comes as the optional "Low profile ducted 2nd 13,500 BTU A/C"? Is it a Penguin?

The new brochure lists the height as 12' 11" plus 6" for the front A/C. That total is getting close to limits for the tunnels in Hampton Roads.

Not sure on the model of the conditioner, however the legal height of bridges, etc. is 13.6 so anything close to that is iffy. Any bridge, etc under that height should be properly marked, unless of course, the sign is in some teen agers bedroom on the wall, which is not uncommon. I try to make sure of my route when in a strange place, but things do pop up. Happy Trails, Steve

We opted for a low profile Penguin. Still, we are 13' 3" tall.

Not only do you have to worry about signs walking away but also adding a couple of inches of asphalt and not re-signing.

Greg, the most current Montana brochure lists the front A/C as "Low profile ducted 2nd 13,500 BTU/A/C". It is labeled as a Dometic. The info you provided in your original post says 6" for front A/C which is lower than the Penguin model.

You should verify the 6" height you stated in your original post.

Here is a link to further identify the front A/C's installed on new Montana's. Note that it is called Dometic Penguin II and remains at 9 1/2 inches in height. It is also in keeping with the mandated upgrade to R410A refrigerant.
