Wanna breakfast caravan on 5/23 to Lake Siskiyou?

*Let's get this party started early*

We'll be leaving the Sacramento area (Davis) just before 5am on Friday the 23rd, and plan on arriving at the "Rolling Hills Casino" in Corning just before 7am. That's when their great breakfast buffet opens. If you have a little bit of gray hair... they give you the "Senior" discount!!

If anyone wants to caravan from the Sacramento area... let us know. It's about 2 hours to Corning when pulling an RV from the city of Davis. Or, if any MOCers from any other location want to meet up at the casino for breakfast and then caravan from there to Lake Siskiyou, that would be great! (It's about another 1 to 1-1/2 hours to Shasta City as the RV flies).

There is a Chevron gas/diesel station at the Casino and there is a Flying J Travel Plaza at the I-5/South Ave. exit,
(exit #631) which is just past the Casino. Either one is great for getting fuel before the uphill climb.

Doug & Margee.

Maybe someone wants to travel as far as the casino the night before, then meet in the morning for breakfast? Heres information on RV overnight & RV parking at RollingHills:
It's a unmanned gated RV Park that allows RVs to check in/out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at a self check-in machine. Credit cards or cash accepted. The rate is $25 per night. RVs are accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Once you've checked-in at the self check-in machine, go select and park in one of the 48 full-hookup, pull-through sites and put your receipt from the check-in machine on your dash. All sites are level gravel pads that are 75 feet long. Tent camping is not allowed. Rigs not displaying the receipt will be issued a $100 ticket by the security patrol.

The RV Park and the truck parking lot are a very short walking distance to the casino and shuttle service is also available. The RV Park can be reached at 530-385-1445. www.rollinghillscasino.com

For RVers who prefer to blacktop boondock,
FREE daily & overnight parking is available in the truck parking lot.

Driving from I-5 south:
Exit at Liberal Avenue (exit #628).
At top of ramp, turn left & cross over the freeway.
At Barham Avenue, (careful, it comes up fast!) turn left and casino is down on your right.
Go past the Casino and enter at the truck entrance, just before the Chevron Station.

DandMontheroad-

This sounds like a great idea....

If I am correct there are a few others heading from this way.

If our plans work out and I do get the Friday off from work. Then this sounds good for us. Problem is I won't know for a few more weeks.

I'll keep watching this post for updates

Yep, there are about 8 Montanas traveling towards Lake Siskiyou from near Chico, San Jose, Sacramento, Fair Oaks and Woodland on Friday the 23rd. I think they all have to pass the casino so it would be fun to meet up with them. I just don't know if they are as crazy as we are to get up and moving so early in the morning.

The "Meet & Greet" is at 4pm so I'd like to get up there and get the Montana situated so I have time to make the appetizer dish for it. Our site is reserved for the Thursday so I know we won't have to wait for someone else to vacate it.

So far it will be us, "Ron-n-Ginger" and you (PartyCrashers) meeting up at the casino for breakfast.

Debbie......

Cool!...

If you have one of those walkie-talkies.... bring it and we'll be able to communicate during our travels if need be. Also, we enter onto I-5 at the Road 102 freeway entrance in Woodland so that would be perfect to let us know when you are about a mile or so away and we can enter onto I-5 when you are right near us.

Margee.

I checked with John and he thought it be great to caravan. Cell 916-792-6657 mine or John's is 916-436-6858. We do have walkie talkies because we use them when we travel with my dad.

I'm hoping that work doesn't mess me up for that Friday off. One of the other girls in the office asked for it off but I have more senority we'll see I could become sick fast.

Hey D&M this sounds great. We are in Tucson now at the rally having a good time.

We will plan on being in Corning at the appointed time. If any one wants a place to park in Chico before going to Corning we have a two acre vacant lot at out house, level but no hookups.

Capt Kidd.... glad to have you aboard the caravan! Bring a walkie-talkie if you have one and we'll figure out what frequency to be on a little closer to caravan time.

Enjoy the Spring rally in Tucson!

Doug & Margee,

We will join you, we will leave Fair Oaks at 4:15, that will put us at the Airport at approx 5:00 so we should be in Woodland about the same time as you. My cell is 916-834-3300. We will also have walkie-talkies, what channel will you be on? Let us know, looking forward to it.

More the merrier! We'll look pretty cool traveling up I-5 with a bunch of Montanas.... *LOL

I don't have the foggiest idea on which channel we all should be on so I will leave that up to someone in the caravan who might know better and let us all know here.

I'll make up a master list of names & cell numbers of us all and email it to everyone in the caravan a few days before we are to leave.

We are looking as forwards to the drive up now as we are to the rally!

Debbie Asher (John & Debbie Asher) and LittleSpud (Gary & Jennifer Kelly) ....

You both are coming from Fair Oaks so maybe you two can talk about meeting up in Fair Oaks and coming up I-5 together at the same time? That would make it real easy for all 5 of us to meet up.

After you two pass the Sacramento International Airport, you'll go up and over the "Vietnam Veteran's Bridge" and then you'll be on the I-5 "Causeway" (elevated roadway). When you get off the Causeway and onto flat ground you can let us know via walkie-talkie and we'll start up our engines and merge onto the freeway just about the same time you are passing. (Remember to flash your lights twice when you see another Montana!...*LOL)

Doug & I went searching yesterday and found a great spot that the 3 rigs (us, PartyCrashers & Ron-n-Ginger) from Davis can meet up at and wait to hear from you. It's a WIDE SPOT on Road 102 in Woodland across from the Chevron station which is about 1/4 mile south from the I-5/Road 102 entrance we'll take to meet up with you.

Crazily excited for the rally..... (can 'ya tell?)

Margee.

That sounds great I'll try to get a hold of LittleSpud and find out where they are coming from in Fair Oaks and what time they plan to leave.

Dang, I'll be sucking up your dust. I need to work until about noon. I won't be on the road until two or later. Keep the campfires burning; I'll be there around seven or eight p.m.

What?..... I'm sorry Bill... I didn't get all that you said.

It sounds like you might be coming down with something. Maybe by the 23rd you should call in sick and rest up at Lake Siskiyou.

*LOL... thanks for the email. You'll miss the Meet & Greet but hopefully your brother does come with you. If you can get away earlier, there's always room for more in the caravan, just be at that wide spot in the road across from the Chevron station on Road 102 no later than 5am.

Although we will not be able to attend the rally, if you will let us we would like to join you for breakfast. I suppose we can find those big Montana's in the parking lot without too much trouble.

Don & Joy.... If you are crazy enough to come meet us at the casino that early....we'd love to see you.

The buffet opens at 7am and last time we ate there the breakfast was very nice.
