Battery Replacement

I know there are different types of RV batteries: lead-acid, AGM and lithium. I am thinking of replacing my lead-acid batteries with AGM. Will my existing inverter support charging of the AGM batteries or do I need to replace the inverter?

First, an inverter uses 12V to create 120V. It isn't used to charge batteries. Your converter uses 120V to produce 12V and charge your batteries.

I have no idea what converter is in your 2011 Mountaineer but most likely it will have no problem charging AGM batteries

If you will Google AGM batteries you will find a wealth of information. Like they like to be charged slow, are used inside a vehicle and lots more.
They are used in vehicles with start stop. That is every time the vehicle stops the engine cuts off then starts when the break is released.

According to the manual on my converter, it says lead acid and AGM batteries, but not Lithium. The lithium batteries require some other sort of battery management system and don't like to cold weather. AGM batteries are the so called maintenance free type and don't require water.
