Third brake light anyone?

Just wondering if anybody has installed a high mounted third brake light on their Monty?
I'm thinking of some kind of rectangular LED type light maybe 2" by 6-8" or so? Dosen't seem like it should be too difficult to do, just need to fish a wire from the brake light up to the top of the rear cap. Love to see pics if anybody has done this!

I put the LED fire and ice 60" bar above our rear windows. It works great at night but the sun dims it down alot. Since I have the exhaust brake on the truck I wired the "running - dim red lights) to it only and then the bright red to the truck brake and turn. The white lights are wired to the backup lights.

Remember the brake light is also the turn signal, at least on my '07. So you can't just put one light there and wire it to one stop light.

Yes, that's a good point. I would have to pick up the signal from the brake wire itself (not just the trailer light) I suppose. I'm sure it's not too difficult but just wanted to see if anyone else had done it.
Motive for doing it is simply an increasing awareness of just how clueless and semi conscious many drivers are out there! When I hit the brakes, I want to get their attention.

Put a light on both side. I added two to the back of mine but did it under the OEM lights.

While there put a one on each side for the four line roads.

Sorry, but the red light over the tires is not DOT legal. Can have amber in this area, but red is only for the rear or sides at extreme rear.

Go for it. The next person to see it could be a "Creeper Cop" looking for something to do. Won't be cheap. I didn't log 3.5 million safe miles as a trucker by taking chances.
