SCREEN ON STAIR VENTS

This was a very easy modification that I learned from a fellow MOCer at the Quartzsite rally and thought I would share with all of you. The vents that attach at the stairs going into the bedroom did not have anything to keep insects like flies and mosquitoes from entering the living compartment from the basement area. Today I removed the vents, cut some window screen to fit and stapled it to the back and reinstalled. This should keep the little buggers out

I did something similar, but since this is also the return air vent for the furnace, I added a HEPA AC Filter. Just got one the width and double the height and cut it in half and change them about every couple of months. Was concerned about restricting air flow at first but doesn't seem to bother the furnace. I think this was an OZZ mod that he suggested. Gotta luv the OZZ man.....

Jack I didn't mean to steal the thread. You also have a great idea to keep insects out. So far we have not been plagued with them yet.

I do the filter thing also for the winter. For the cooling season I block those areas off, no sense cooling the basement ie: pulling hot air into the trailer from the basement.
