I'll keep my 2004 Duramax. Don't like the Chevy Grille or bumper treatment. Looks too much like the phony Nissan truck front ends.
Just my opinion

Rick,
I am with you... I hate the new chrome bumper on the Silverado. Who ever came up with that one should be fired! =)

Don't care for the Chev's new look and I'm still thinking about the GMC. Ain't crazy about the new headlights.

Think I'll stick with my 05 for awhile longer.

Not as bad as I feared, not as good as I hoped.

I'll stick with my '07 Classic, probably for as long as we are hauling our '05 Montana around. I think both are about as good as they ever will be.

The hole package is the BIGGEST pulling truck in its class! Thats what I look at, I let my DW pick out the colors and the seats and I do the rest. The GMC is still the better of the two designs!

I stand corrected
HP Torque Total Cap. Payload GVWR GCWR
GMC 365 660 16500 5307 11400 23500
Dodge 350 650 16500 5320 12200 24000
Ford 325 570 15900 5400 12500 23000

Was thinking of the new engine with its greater HP & Torque.

Thanks for the site Dave. It is always neat to look and do a wish list. I would like to tow once with the newer Duramax and 6 speed Allison, I think that experience would probably give me the itch to trade! Mine only has 55k on it so it's not broke in hardly! Looking at the interior, it looks like the center does not lock, could that be? Not good to be legal if you get my drift!

I think it looks good without the chrome bumpers. Not sure about it being the biggest pulling truck in it's class, as the Dodge 3500 is rated at 24,000 pounds.

I called about getting the painted bumper on the 2500HD and the 3500HD, as of that phone call GM is only offering the chrome bumper on the HD models. The half ton is the only Chevy that comes with a painted bumper. I hope GM changes their mind on this option. I really like my Duramax(on my 2nd already) but I will be looking hard at the new Ford F350 King Ranch SRW crew long bed when the time comes to trade in...

Boy I agree with the others...the chrome bumper on the Chevy is horrible...what were they thinking?? Thank goodness they didn't to that to the GMC.

I would like to take a tape measure to the new ones...seems to be a smaller body than my 2006 classic , don't you think length and with[sp] are smaller slightly?? you know "PAY MORE FOR LESS"

What did I miss??? Dash pics of both Chevy and GMC do NOT show a trans temp??? Are these pics of Vortec interiors only? Can't believe that as I would assume they would photo the interiors of the trucks in the exterior pics?

I am waiting for the 2010 model - It will "HOVER" (no tire's to blow out) GVWR 50,000 and WARP DRIVE, with Hyper gearing - exterior color can be changed with a simple flip of a switch to match your mood or weather conditions. One refuel capsule per year - you pick up at the local 7-11. Ok, Snow's got me in Kansas

Dave,
The tranny temp is now on the DIC, no longer a gauge. The pictures showed are the interior of both the 2500HD and 3500HD, does not matter the motor option...

Really? Don't know if I like that, Dave. I want something I can just glance at without having to cylce through buttons to check. Wife wants the DIC set to the odometer as she always likes to see how far we have to go yet when traveling. Maybe have to finally look into getting gauges if I plan on upgrading to one of these GMCs?

I'm with you Dave. When the time comes to upgrade, if I stay with the Duramax, I will be adding a tranny temp to my Pod gauges. Having it on the DIC is nice, but being able to look at it instantly is huge plus.

I've been unable to locate tow, gcwr, and gvwr info on the new GMC. Also, will there be a SRW 3500 crewcab 6 1'2 ft bed? Any idea where to find this info?
