Banks System Power Upgrade?
Well, here we are at tax return time again...and I'm thinking some type of power upgrade (again).
I'm not sure and have mixed feelings. I would like increased HP, but increased MPG would also be nice. I'll have to do some research.

I added the Banks Power to my 03. MPG I think I am seeing about 2 as long as I stay out of the throttle. At 2MPG in 500,000 it will have paid for itself.
I do see a difference with 80 additional HP dialed in, not towing. That is when I have to watch showing off and losing some of the MPG. I did tow the new trailer home with the added HP and pulled the hills easier.
I am not sorry I did it.
PM me if you have specific questions.
Cheers,

There was a previous post about this and I stated that we put the Banks "Power Pack" on our 95 Ford because it did not have an intercooler and had the flat turbine outlet pipe. We experienced more power for sure. Fuel mileage may have improved slightly but it's hard to tell with the increase in power, we use it. My only negative comment about it is the drivability. The power comes on strong with just a slight pedal pressure. Can be a little tedious to drive now and then especially on wet or snowy pavement. Took some getting used to.

I had the Banks Power Pack installed in 2002 on our 1995 F-250 and we've been really satisfied with it. Not only did we get more power but we got 2 miles more/gal. It's a very good system though a bit pricey. I think you get what you pay for. At the time we also had the Banks Exhaust Brake installed.

thanks for the feedback, I'm waiting for some prices to come back...and local dealer. I got a phone number for someone in California...and a ball park price in the $4,000 range. That seems steep!

One of the best things from banks I installed on my duramax was the cold air filter. Increased fuel mileage 1.5 mpg with a chip.

If that is an installed price; that might be about right. I did the job myself and parts were have that. It took me 8 hours by myself to put the exhaust and air intake on and about 5 hours to do the electronics and Wastegate. So a shop can probably do it six to eight hours and cost the rest.
If you go to Calf I would go to Banks and have them do it since they are in Calf or get a shop recommended by them.
Cheers,

Thank you. I definetly want it done locally here in New York.If it's going to be $4,000 I will have to wait. I have a local mechanic who said he would install it for me for around $600-$800 estimated...it would obviously be done at his hourly rate....but if he's not used to doing them, it could take longer.

I think I may call a local diesel mechanic and see what he says.
