Traveling Help Indy to Baltimore Ideas

Does anybody out there have any ideas on what to see and where to camp/stop along the route attached. I have been planning this and it all blends together after awhile. We will be leaving Indianapolis to Baltimore to our daughters. Any suggestions on where to park our 40 Ft fifth wheel a long the way?

Hocking Hills just southeast of Columbus, Oh, is a nice place although the drive up and down the hill can be a little nerve racking. Also Red River Gorge, east of Lexington, Ky is nice. Any where along the Bourbon Trail is also nice. I don't now if you're looking for scenic or just a quick over nighter. Good luck.

Twice thru Cincinnati Ohio is more than enough for me. Roughest roads and construction will keep me away from there. I use RV Trip Wizard to do all my planning. Claims RV Safe Routing.

South of Richmond, Indiana you have Whitewater State Park, Brookville State Recreation area, and Quakertown State Recreation area which are all 3 great camping locations and about 20-25 miles off I-70.

North of Columbus, Ohio there is Delaware State Park and Alum Creek State Park. Both are great places for camping and about 30 miles North of I-70.

There are a number of additional State Parks between Columbus and the Pensylvania State line North and South of I-70 only a few miles off course.

Once you get down to Morgantown, West Virginia you will be in the deep Appalachian Mountains. There are multiple opportunities for any kind activity or camping. The area is awesome all the way to Hagerstown, MD. After that, you are approaching unknown territory for me.

Traveling this route has all sorts possibilities for any style of camping and pretty much, any style of activity. Basically, it's whatever you are looking for.

We are State Park camping people. And we've enjoyed every one we've ever been to. Our expectations are simple... Electricity, water somewhere in the park and not necessarily needed on the campsite, and at least a dump station. Of course, the more woodsy and the more forests and the more lakes and water and the more trails and hiking opportunity is what we relish!

Personally I wouldn’t take 68 in MD as it’s got some step grades. I would continue on to 70/76 in Pa till you hit Breezewood then drop down to 70 in MD. If you take 70/76 you can see the Laurel highlands and avoid the steep grades. On 68 there is a 13 mile 6% grade which is not the most fun thing according to my wife.
