Apgar Campground

Planning a trip to Glacier NP in August. Anybody have any suggestions on campsite number in Apgar campground to look into? Does anybody know where I can download a printable copy of the campground?

I found lots of information, maps and YouTube “tour of Apgar Campground” with a quick search…see screen shots below. The Recreation.gov map shows location of each site plus a photo.

I thought on Glacier website that Apgar is ONLY group reservations. Did I mis-read it?

Apgar Campground

Starting some time this month, the Apgar campground is going to reservations for the summer. After the summer it will go back to first come system.

Apgar used to be 1st come, 1st served. Starting in 2022, all sites are reservation only during the peak season. You can reserve up to 6 months in advance.

Of course, the NPS announces a policy and then lags in implementations. Here is the official announcement about reservations:

(Source: https://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/camping.htm)
NEW in 2022 – Apgar Campground and Sprague Creek Campground will require a reservation during the peak season. Once the reservation period ends, they will revert back to first come, first serve. At this time, reservable sites have NOT been released on Recreation.gov. We anticipate releasing these sites in mid to late April.
