Hello from Texas!

Hello MOC!

Wife and I have been looking at RV's since early 2019, started by looking at 30K Cougar TT's and up to 125k DRV's. Finally ended up putting a deposit down at our local dealer for '21 Montana 3121RL.

Added:
Legacy
Cobalt FBP
Dual Pane Windows
2" 3K lbs receiver
3rd A/C Non-ducted
Slide toppers
King Bed

Estimated delivery April '21

I decided against the solar flex options as I plan to build my own system in various phases as the need and plans require. Currently, I'm getting my feet wet with some LiFePo4 cells in the garage. We plan to travel full time in about 2-3 years after getting all our ducks in a row, aka pay off bills.

This forum is very resourceful, so far I've found a really good PDI checklist I plan give to the dealer to establish delivery expectations. Then I found another thread with everyone listing a bunch of 'must have' items. My pockets are a bit lighter, but I think we have everything(on order) needed for that first shake down trip.

We are still looking for the best financing and insurance companies. USAA/5.49%, Essex/4.19%. Open to recommendations.

TIA!

-Carl

Carl,

Welcome to the forum! This is a great place to learn and share.

Have never financed a trailer so not a lot of help there. I did dump USAA insurance and investments over poor service but still do a little banking with them. They have really gone down hill in the last years.

Welcome to the forum! May your new rig bring you many years of wonderful memories. We didn't use it, but a Texas dealer had the best finance offer when we were looking for our second rig. Once you go full time you'll want to check millerrvinsurance.com for insurance. Worth checking now, but they excell in full timers coverage.

Can’t help with financing.
We have used State Farm for home, auto, and RV insurance for many years. Not the cheapest. But have always been great for covering any claims, including about $15,000 when I nearly ripped off my rear cap on tail swing catching a steel column. And over $25,000 to home damaged by large hail storm, including damage to things I did not even see. Never questioned any claims. .

w/d drain

Thanks for all the welcomes!

Once question I can't seem to figure out before the rig shows up...Does anyone have any first hand experience of where the w/d drains in the '21 3121rl's? I've seen post that say it goes to kitchen gray, bathroom gray, and straight to discharge pipe and a bunch otheres that say its however they felt that day! lol

Thanks again!

We have a 2020 3121, and ours drains to the bathroom gray tank. Just an FYI, we use 8 gallons of water each load.

Try Southeast Financial (www.sefinancial.com). When we bought our Montana 3 years ago they had the best rate and their service was excellent.

Beware of dealer sponsored loans. They often steer you to 20yr loans to lower the monthly payment. The problem there is the depreciation will outrun the paydown and you would be underwater all the time if you make the scheduled payment.
Having said that I went for the long loan because it had the lowest interest rate by far and we just make a higher payment turning it into a 5 year loan. It will be paid off the same time as our home and we will be debt free and care free.

SHE's HERE!

Dealer just sent me a pic. Arrived about two weeks earlier than projected.

Going through PDI and dealer prep.

Got the B&W hitch installed and lubed up. Hope to pick up next Saturday!
