Yep, you would be responsible, but I bet when the call is dropped there would be no real indication that it was a blocker being used. These wireless phones drop often, and we always wonder why.
Enforcement is tough, I think almost futile. We all see the people doing it, but I bet an extremely small portion of the illegal wireless violators get a ticket.
I won't be using one...for the record again.

I live in Farmington, NM and at any given time when I see a cop car there is a cell phone hanging off the drivers ear. Shocking but true. You would think hands free devices would be used in law enforcement vehicles.

In California LEOs are exempt from cell phone laws. I believe they view the cell phone as a necessary safety device. Same thing regarding seat belts. Normally you will see LEOs belted up just like anyone else..... But there are times when they do not wear them. If they are involved with some sort of "take down" action they will remove the belt long before they are at their take down location.

In California it is still legal to use a cell phone while driving if you are reporting some sort of emergency event. My experience has been that there must be some sort of ongoing major catastrophe happening every day! Because I see many many people using their cell phones! Drive safely folks, Dennis.

Didn't realize what LEO was. I'm not in that line of work but I would think while in a car the same safety issues would still exist. I would think on a greater scale, the LOA probably has many more possible distractions than the average Joe driving down the road. Is there a reason for not having a hands free setup in a patrol car? How much work is done by cell phone?
